The problem this solves

Early-stage founders often spend time and money building without a structured product direction. Effort spreads across too many ideas, decisions get made under competing priorities, and priorities shift too often.

Most founders get further than they expect on instinct and conviction alone, and that is worth celebrating. That initial plan and sometimes scrappy approach is what gets a product off the ground. But there is a point where instinct needs a framework behind it, and many times the focus stays on hiring builders and completing dev tasks, when the product strategy decisions that could have made the biggest difference needed to happen earlier.

The cost is real: wasted developer spend, delayed launches, a weaker fundraising narrative, and reduced runway due to rework.

Having a scalable product strategy and decision making approach that works with your business goals and the size of the team you actually have makes all the difference.

The outcome

By the end of 10 weeks, I install a product direction system you can use to make confident decisions, align your build effort, and focus your team.

You walk away with:

Who this is for

This is for you if

  • +You are an early-stage founder preparing to build or scale your product
  • +You have hired developers, a CTO, or are planning to hire them soon
  • +You are preparing to hire, fundraise, or expand delivery
  • +You have a lot of ideas and feel increasing pressure to choose the right direction

Not for you if

  • You want someone to manage your team or ship features for you
  • You are looking for shortcuts or overnight success
  • You are not ready to make prioritisation decisions
  • You are not willing to challenge assumptions about what should be built now versus later

What I'll need from you

To keep momentum and avoid rework, I'll need:

Boundaries (so scope stays clean)

This is a high-ticket project offer with a defined outcome, not ongoing fractional product management.

How I work:

I work autonomously between sessions to move the deliverables forward (analysis, synthesis, drafting, and recommendations), then use our weekly session and async check-ins to review, decide, and unblock.

Not included:

  • Managing your developers day-to-day
  • Shipping features, QA, or design production work
  • Being available on-demand as a fractional PM (outside agreed check-ins)
  • An ongoing retainer after week 10 (available separately if you want ongoing support)

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a technical background?

No. This program is built for founders who need product direction before or alongside technical build.

Will this replace a product manager?

No. This sets the foundation so future hires work from a clear direction system.

How much time should I expect to spend each week?

Approximately 2–4 hours including sessions and exercises.

Can this work if I already started building?

Yes. Founders are welcome to join before or after they have started building. The program meets you where you are and aligns direction to your current stage.

Projects that shaped this approach

RentBetter

Proptech SaaS · Australia

Short-term engagementMoved to fractional

Brought in on a short-term product strategy and discovery engagement to identify gaps in the landlord experience beyond tenancy management.

Through customer research, workflow analysis, and platform review, a clear strategic opportunity emerged. This shaped the direction for RentBetter Pulse, a guidance and action layer that helps landlords know what needs attention across their properties and what to do next.

What started as a short-term engagement to solve one specific problem evolved into an ongoing fractional relationship. One of the first items I addressed was a full updated product strategy.
